Senior VMWare Platform Engineer
Remote based Paying between 70,000-80,000, depending on experience.
We're recruiting for a Senior VMWare Platform Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering team within a leading Managed Services Provider focused on VMware Cloud Foundation, private cloud, Kubernetes and automation technologies.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll help design, build and enhance enterprise cloud platforms, improve automation capabilities and provide technical leadership across complex infrastructure and managed service environments.
Key Responsibilities Design, build and support VMware-based cloud and managed service platforms. Deliver complex engineering projects across virtualisation, infrastructure and Kubernetes environments. Develop Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD capabilities. Drive improvements in standardisation, operational efficiency and service reliability. Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point. Produce technical documentation, runbooks and operational standards. Work closely with Architecture, Operations and Delivery teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Skills & Experience Required Strong VMware infrastructure experience. Hands-on Kubernetes administration and platform engineering experience. Infrastructure as Code skills, ideally Terraform and Kubernetes manifests. Experience with automation, scripting and DevSecOps methodologies. Knowledge of GitHub, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines. Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Experience VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX and vSAN VMware Cloud Director Multi-tenant private cloud environments Linux administration Monitoring, observability and resilience engineering
