Manage company OLTP and OLAP servers. Responsibilities include maintaining the current database systems, supporting the design and implementation of changes to the databases, establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management systems. The successful applicant will be involved in managing client enquiries and face-to-face client’s activities.
Main Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Data Insight / Data Mining
- Recoverability - Creating and testing Backups
- Integrity – Verify data integrity
- Security - Defining and/or implementing access controls to the data
- Updates and upgrades
- Availability - Ensuring maximum uptime
- Performance - Ensuring maximum performance given budgetary constraints
- Development and testing support - Assist programmers and to efficiently utilise the database
Experience/Knowledge/Qualification required:
- Over 5 years of professional experience developing SQL software
- Advanced PL/SQL or similar
- Good experience SQL skills (experience with PostgreSQL / Greenplum is a plus)
- AWS (EC2, RDS, CloudWatch…)
- Linux (shell, crons…), Ansible / Terraform, replication, pgWatch
- Python is a plus
- Computer Science degree or related
