Network Infrastructure Team Lead

Our client is a well-established technology-led organisation seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Team Lead to lead a team of skilled network engineers while driving the ongoing development of a large-scale, business-critical network environment.

As Network Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers while taking ownership of the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation's network platforms.

Working closely with senior technical stakeholders, you will help define the future network roadmap, drive innovation, ensure operational excellence and act as the senior technical escalation point across a complex network estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership across network operations and infrastructure projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of best practices.
  • Act as an escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues.
  • Deliver infrastructure upgrades, enhancements and growth initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and technology partners.
  • Ensure adherence to change management, incident management and operational processes.
  • Support capacity planning, platform resilience, patching and service improvement activities.
  • Contribute to strategic network architecture and future technology roadmaps.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading, mentoring or managing technical infrastructure teams.
  • Strong background in enterprise network engineering and operations.
  • Expertise across routing, switching and network technologies including:
  • BGP
  • MPLS
  • EVPN
  • VXLAN
  • ISIS
  • HSRP
  • VRRP
  • STP
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Arista networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise firewall technologies including Cisco ASA, Fire Power or Forti Gate.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering network infrastructure projects and operational improvements.
