Bid Manager

Due to growing demand we are in search of a Bid Manager to join our Commercial Team. This is a newly created role and will report to the UK Commercial Director., You will lead the bid process from development of initial win strategies through to submission and successful contract award. The role combines strategic competencies with hands on detailed delivery of complex tenders with a particular focus on public sector bids., Leading and owning the creation of winning tender submissions

• Review all new opportunities with the SMT aligned with Bid Decision Process

• Proactive management and leadership of each tender process

• Ensure structure of the document reflects all requirements in a way that facilitates easy scoring

• Well written proposals from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise manner

• Design, collation, production and review of the final submission document including the ownership and writing of sections.

• Working as part of the Commercial Team to produce high quality, customer focused documents

• Updating and integration of knowledge management within Document Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems Monitoring and reporting monthly

• Managing competing deadlines whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality in written work

• Proven track record in managing bids – Minimum 5 years’ experience

• Proven experience in writing complex, high value Public Sector bids

• Experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling, competitive, and high-quality bids

• Competency in MS Office software

• The ability to work to tight deadlines

• Ability to maintain a flexible attitude to work task and workload to ensure tender deadlines are achieved

• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Ideally educated to degree level

• Ideally experienced within the urban waste sector
