Software Engineer (f/m/d) in London

Contentful is looking for a mid-level backend Typescript engineer to join a high-performing, remote-first development team based in Europe. You will join a team at the forefront of an innovative new product, enabling structured content to be connected and reshaped for different digital experiences and platforms. Contentful is a modern Digital Experience platform for businesses. Our mission is to enable teams across the world to quickly build personalized, AI-enhanced digital experiences at Enterprise scale. • Solve complex engineering and Content Modelling problems, enabling our customers even greater flexibility in how they connect and re-use their content.
• Continuously enhance REST and GraphQL API experiences that consistently cater to billions of requests every month.
• Get involved in our journey to leverage AI to enhance user experience, streamline operations and unlock new capabilities.
• Develop on our Platform with modern services like AWS, CloudFlare, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

What do you need to be successful?

• Experience in delivering robust distributed systems, REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Strong knowledge and commercial experience working with the server-side JavaScript ecosystem (Node.js) and TypeScript.
• Experience with working in an agile environment, passionate about operational excellence and coding best practices such as pair-programming and test-driven development.
• Have strong teamwork skills, open to diverse opinions, able to give reasons for your technical decisions and guide/mentor less seasoned engineers.
• Familiarity with automated deployment processes (CI/CD) and version control (Git).
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written (German is not required).
• Knowledge of GraphQL and serverless applications a strong plus.
