The Customer Insights & Adoption (CIA) team is hiring a senior architect to lead internal technical enablement across Contentful's product portfolio and recommended ways of building. You will serve as a deeply technical, highly crossâfunctional subject matter expert who empowers internal teams, customers, and partners to adopt Contentful with confidence and consistency. You'll apply your industry experience, consultative leadership, and passion for teaching to build scalable programs and toolkits that drive a shared understanding of what good looks like, inform product innovation, and guide business strategy.
What to expect?
- Own and evolve internal technical enablement on Contentful product features, implementation patterns, and best practices for the Customer Experience organization (e.g. Customer Success Management, Professional Services, Learning Services, Customer Support Engineering) and crossâfunctional teams (e.g. Sales Engineering, Partnerships).
- Serve as a companyâwide Contentful subject matter expert by engaging closely with internal teams to develop prescriptive implementation guidance and synthesize it into workshops, enablement materials, tools, examples and other resources.
- Establish a strategic, scalable technical enablement practice that supports continuous education, centralized knowledge sharing, and consistent understanding across teams, customers, and solution partners.
- Partner closely with Field Enablement to develop a cadence of training and learning sessions that align technical enablement with goâtoâmarket strategies.
- Collaborate with Product, Product Marketing and Demo teams throughout the product development lifecycle to evaluate new features, provide actionable feedback, and influence decisions as a trusted advisor.
- Coordinate closely with Professional Services to translate customer implementation insights into impactful enablement content; coordinate with Learning Services and Developer Experience to ensure messaging and guidance are aligned across courses, training, and documentation.
- Create, curate, and maintain a library of enablement materials including feature usage guidance, prescriptive patterns, use cases, discovery questions, and architectural recommendations.
- Develop and deliver internal workshops and technical training that effectively support both technical and nonâtechnical audiences; model excellent virtual facilitation and learner engagement techniques.
- Contribute to and help lead strategic enablement initiatives, such as starter kits, maturity models, trial environments, and other crossâteam projects that strengthen our internal, customer, and partner ecosystem.
- Support Customer Success Managers and Partner Managers as a technical advisor during select customer and partner engagements, providing clarity on architecture, implementation decisions, and best practice adoption.
What you need to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a customerâfacing Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, or Implementation Consultant role. Consulting experience is preferred; candidates must have experience leading technical discussions with both technical and nonâtechnical stakeholders.
- Proven expertise with APIâfirst, composable content platforms (i.e. Contentful, Contentstack, Sanity); experience with legacy CMS platforms (i.e. Drupal, AEM, Sitecore) a plus.
- Strong understanding of composable/MACH principles, headless CMS architecture, and best practices for building contentâdriven applications.
- Professional experience designing or implementing microservicesâbased architectures and transitioning away from monolithic systems.
- Handsâon proficiency with modern web technologies, such as React/Next.js, Vue, Angular, REST and GraphQL APIs, and cloudâbased microservices.
- Familiarity with web rendering approaches (serverâside, clientâside, hybrid, SSG, ISR) and modern frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt.js, Remix, Gatsby).
- Experience with commerce and marketing technology platforms, as well as personalization, experimentation, and analytics tools (preferred).
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills â able to engage technical and nonâtechnical audiences.
- Experience creating and delivering both inâperson and virtual workshops, training, or educational content.
- Wellâorganized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and the desire to own new challenges.
