We’re CMA – a high performing and fast growing digital marketing and design agency. We help brands and organisations around the world turn insight into action through strong strategy, content, design and technology.
The role:
We’re looking for a Web & Platform Developer who enjoys variety, problem-solving and collaboration. This is an agency-side role. You’ll work across multiple projects at different stages – from new builds driven by strategy and wireframes, through to ongoing optimisation, troubleshooting and improvements.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building custom websites and platforms based on clear strategies, wireframes and content plans
- Working closely with design, marketing and strategy teams to turn ideas into working solutions
- Managing and maintaining live websites – fixing issues as they arise rather than parking them
- Supporting server environments and hosting setups (performance, security, uptime)
- Troubleshooting technical issues across multiple projects in real time
- Improving speed, stability and scalability across client platforms
- Showing confidence in talking to clients and partners
Core skills & experience:
We’re more interested in how you think and work than a perfect checklist. Strong skills and interest in:
- HTML5 / CSS
- JavaScript
- PHP
- SQL
- WordPress (custom themes, plugins, CMS configuration)
- General server and hosting knowledge (AWS a big thumbs up)
Nice to have (not essential):
- Git (Bitbucket or similar)
- Frameworks (e.g. Laravel, Vue.js)
- SASS
- Composer
- Node / NPM
- REST APIs
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Linux server environments (Ubuntu, NGINX)
- AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Performance optimisation and security best practices
- Agile or sprint-based working
- An understanding of digital marketing fundamentals
How you work:
- You’re comfortable switching context between projects
- You enjoy solving problems, not just building and moving on
- You can explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical teammates
- You’re collaborative, proactive and pragmatic
- If you don’t know something, you’re happy to go and learn it
How to apply:
If you’ve got more skills than a Keanu Reeves, touch base. This applies whether you’re a freelance web and software developer or looking for a new career. Hit us up by sending CVs and messages of interest to careers@cmagency.co.uk
