Content Guru is a leading global provider of enterprise cloud Customer Experience (CX) and contact centre solutions, and we are at the forefront of the Generative AI evolution. We’re looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join our team at our head office in Bracknell, Berkshire. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for leading the global People function and ensuring our people strategies support both the immediate and long-term objectives of the business.

What we are looking for…

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially focused Chief People Officer to lead our People function. You’ll be responsible for all People team services and activities, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team as a trusted advisor and business partner. You will play a key role in developing and implementing People strategies that support business growth, colleague engagement, development, and retention, whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation and organisational policies. This role requires both a strategic and hands-on approach, balancing long-term planning with the day-to-day leadership of the People function.

Key responsibilities of the role…

  • People Leadership & Team Management
    • Provide leadership and direction to the People team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality and efficient service
    • Develop, motivate, coach, and support the People leadership team
    • Ensure appropriate resource planning, succession planning, and training initiatives are in place
    • Establish and monitor departmental objectives, performance measures, and continuous improvement activities
    • Build effective working relationships across the wider business to support operational effectiveness
  • People Strategy, Policy & Governance
    • Develop and implement People plans that support business growth and strategic objectives
    • Ensure all People policies, procedures, contracts, and practices remain legally compliant and up to date
    • Lead data analysis activities relating to engagement, absence, performance, and other people metrics
    • Maintain effective People administration, records management, and compliance activities
    • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant employment, health and safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Talent Acquisition, Engagement & Development
    • Oversee Talent Acquisition activities to ensure the business attracts, recruits, and onboards high-quality colleagues
    • Promote and encourage a positive culture aligned with the Company’s values
    • Ensure effective performance management processes are implemented across the organisation
    • Work with business leaders to develop succession plans, training programmes, and career development initiatives
    • Provide management coaching, guidance, and best-practice support as required
    • Support graduate development initiatives and wider learning and development activities
  • Employee Relations & Business Support
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on People-related matters
    • Lead the management of complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary, capability, grievance, and organisational change programmes
    • Support organisational restructuring activities where required
    • Ensure appropriate processes are in place to manage colleague lifecycle activities effectively
    • Support risk mitigation and compliance throughout all People activities
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead People projects designed to improve business effectiveness and colleague experience
    • Oversee People-related activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, TUPE transfers, and collective consultations
    • Establish reporting and monitoring processes to assess performance against business objectives
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the People function
    • Act as an ambassador for the Company’s cultural values and commercial focus

About You…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • CIPD membership or certification, preferably Level 7
  • Strong track record in HR generalist and change management roles
  • Extensive experience leading and developing People teams
  • Thorough knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, capability, grievance, and organisational restructuring programmes
  • Strong understanding of recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and wider People processes
  • Experience delivering strategic learning and development initiatives
  • Outstanding commercial acumen and strategic business insight
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information
  • Experience within the IT or telecommunications sector would be advantageous
