Content Chemistry is looking for an Animator & Editor to join our talented team!
Content Chemistry Ltd is a video and animation company based in South Manchester. We specialise in harnessing scientific accuracy and creative brilliance to produce captivating films, videos and animations. Using the latest technology, our expert team transforms complex ideas into stunning visual stories that educate, engage, and excite with storytelling through the lens of science and creativity.
As an Animator & Editor, you will play a key role at Content Chemistry, transforming creative concepts into engaging visual stories that captivate and inspire, bringing ideas to life through polished animation, thoughtful editing and seamless integration of both disciplines. Working across the full post‑production pipeline, you will craft engaging visual stories that elevate our client projects and support business growth. You will collaborate closely with our Lead Animator, Junior Animator, Editor, Producers, Designers and other creatives, ensuring that every deliverable reflects high standards of craft, creativity, accuracy and brand alignment. You will also contribute to workflow excellence, champion best practice in digital asset management and support continuous improvement across the post‑production team.
Animation & Motion
- Create high‑quality motion assets including fully animated pieces, intro/outro bumpers, video wireframes, lower thirds, transitions and animated sequences.
- Create, source and manipulate vector graphics and assets that support the animation process.
- Accurately time and pace animations to sync with VO, music and sound design.
- Confidently excel at using Adobe After Effects and associated plug‑ins.
Editing & Storytelling
- Content editing of studio and location‑shot, virtually‑captured and self‑filmed contents into compelling narratives for internal and client review.
- Craft and finesse edits through picture lock, grade, mix, master and delivery, ensuring all outputs meet publication‑ready or platform‑specific standards.
- Integrate live‑action edits into animated environments, collaborating with designers and the Lead Animator.
- Confidently excel at using Adobe Premiere Pro and associated plug‑ins.
Delivery & Quality
- Adhere to production deadlines whilst balancing creativity, accuracy and commercial needs.
- Work from storyboards developed by Designers, providing input to ensure motion, edit and visual structure align seamlessly.
- Participate actively in reviews, offering and welcoming constructive feedback.
- Keep inclusion, diversity, transparency and authenticity central to all creative decisions.
People
- Collaborate closely with Producers, editors and the production team to devise creative animation and editorial solutions.
- Serve as the connective ‘red thread’ in the post team for large projects, ensuring coherence across animation and edit outputs.
- Support the mentoring of our Junior Animator, aiding skills development in both animation and editorial craft.
- Own your role in our company to help shape our operations with continuous improvement and teamwork in mind.
Operations
- Champion high standards of data handling, file management and workflow excellence.
- Work with senior team members to streamline processes and support efficient workflows across post‑production.
- Support on‑site video production at domestic and international events when required.
- Support the Lead Animator to manage new kit and equipment requirements for the company.
Skills of the ideal candidate should include:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Ability to flexibly switch between editing and animation workflows depending on project priorities.
- Excellent timing, pacing and storytelling instincts across animation and edit.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of video cameras, file formats, codecs and digital acquisition workflows.
- Adaptable, calm under pressure and able to manage fast‑turnaround deliverables.
- Ability to multitask and reprioritise in line with commercial and creative demands.
- Personable, open to constructive feedback, recognising individual perspectives.

This role is based at our office in Cheadle Hulme, South Manchester, with the ability to work from home on a hybrid basis up to two days per week, as the role develops. Please do not apply if you are not within reasonable commuting distance to Cheadle Hulme.
