Estimating Engineer
Location: Fleetwood, Lancashire
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm | Friday, 8:00am–2:00pm
Working Arrangement: Full-time, office-based
The Opportunity
We are recruiting an Estimating Engineer to join an established manufacturing business based in Fleetwood.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering or manufacturing background who has a strong understanding of machining processes, technical drawings and manufacturing methods. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive quotations, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal departments to ensure projects are costed effectively and meet customer requirements.
Previous estimating experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates with a strong technical engineering background and the motivation to develop their estimating skills are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial quotations, managing enquiries through to quotation.
Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and CAD models to understand customer requirements.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders throughout the quotation process.
Obtain supplier pricing, assess manufacturing costs and identify cost-effective solutions.
Work closely with Engineering, Production and Purchasing teams to establish the most efficient manufacturing methods.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
Support the operational team in ensuring customer expectations are met.
Undertake site visits where required to assess project requirements.
About You
A background in engineering or manufacturing, with a good understanding of CNC turning and milling principles.
