Contek Recruitment are currently working with a specialist Engineering company, based in Sheffield. Due to continued growth and success, they are recruiting for an experienced Process Engineer to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Days) - 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £39,000 per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all tasks & work complies with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures of the company.
- Assist with statistical analysis of test failures to drive improvements, provide summary of root cause and trend statistics for test failures.
- Maintain the test failure logs.
- Provide monthly statistical data where required.
- Assist with the approval of special process suppliers.
- Support with the evaluation of amendments to specification, procedures and national standards.
- Amend company procedures and specifications as required.
- Assist in the technical aspects of metallurgical conversion.
- Control of orders to be witness based on sales value, project & development work, quality concerns, alloy sensitivity, and supplier difficulties.
- Own any arising non-conformances.
- Forge witnessing and maintaining records.
- Assist in the review and approval of forging procedures.
- Evaluate and sentence supplier NCRs.
- Assist in the development of new suppliers as required.
- Set down stream essential variables for hot worked products as required.
- Conduct RCA for hot work NCRs.
- Produce technical reports as required internally or by customers.
- Support other departments and customers with technical and metallurgical aspects.
- Manage own generated MPQP/ MPS requirements.
- Assist with queries regarding incoming and dispatch certification.
- On project type orders, support the production of these with daily technical support / guidance as needed.
- Complete understanding of the projects technical requirements to ensure that the scope of work is fulfilled.
- Support the QA manager in investigation and closure of all CAPA involving significant technical involvement.
- Support the QA Manager by conducting internal audits against the company quality & technical requirements.
Requirements:
- Technical knowledge and experience of hot working NI and LAS.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Systems / HES / QNG / iMetals.
- Knowledge of customer specification and national standards.
- Team working and understanding of quality methodologies, such as 5 WHY & Fishbone Diagrams.
- Process and compliance auditing methodologies.
