CNC Turner (Setter / Operator) based in West Bromwich B70.
My client is a specialist manufacturer of roll tooling, providing reliable subcontract machining services across the West Midlands and throughout Europe. They deliver complete end-to-end and turnkey machining solutions, alongside a nationwide 24/7 breakdown service and in-house machining for tubes and sections.
They are looking to recruit a CNC Turner on a permanent basis to join a small, close-knit team of 78 staff. This is a hands-on role focused on setting and operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
- Set tooling, offsets, and prove out programs
- Produce components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances
- Operate CNC lathes with C and Y axis capability (desirable)
- Carry out basic program edits at the machine
- Monitor machining processes and maintain quality standards
- Inspect components using appropriate measuring equipment
- Work closely with the production team to meet schedules
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner (Setter / Operator)
- Strong experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
- Ability to set machines from scratch
- Experience with C and Y axis lathes is desirable
- Good understanding of machining principles and tooling
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
