Job Description HGV / Commercial Vehicle Technician Location: Tewkesbury, GL20 8HG Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated HGV / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team in Tewkesbury. In this role, you will work across a varied fleet—including modern heavy trucks, buses, coaches, and mixed commercial vehicles—maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Servicing & Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across a wide range of commercial vehicles. Varied Fleet Work: Work on heavy trucks, buses, coaches, and mixed fleet vehicles. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all repairs, inspections, and maintenance work strictly adhere to safety regulations, DVSA standards, and company quality controls. Documentation: Accurately complete all job sheets, inspection reports, and relevant paperwork in a timely manner. Hours & Shift Pattern Base Hours: 42.5 hours per week Shift Rotation: Ideally a flexible 3-shift rotation: Shift 1: 06:00 – 15:00 Shift 2: 07:00 – 16:00 Shift 3: 13:00 – 22:00 Weekend Work: 1 in 3 Saturdays from 07:00 – 13:00 (Paid at overtime rates) Package & Benefits Salary: Competitive salary negotiable, dependent on experience. Holiday Allowance: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays. Training & Development: Ongoing main franchise training provided to support career development and enhance technical skills. Requirements Proven experience as an HGV, Bus/Coach, or Commercial Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. Strong diagnostic and mechanical knowledge of modern truck, bus, and coach systems. Driving license appropriate for commercial vehicles (PSV/HGV license is a strong plus). Strong commitment to workplace safety and vehicle regulatory compliance.
