Role Type: Full time, permanent Location: Sheffield Salary: £37,517.20 per year (All in) Working Hours: 1 week rotation – Mornings (Monday to Friday - 6am until 2:30pm) and Nights (Monday to Thursday - 6pm until 4am) Role Overview My client is seeking an experienced CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) to join their team in Sheffield. As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for the precision machining of high-integrity components to meet stringent customer and industry requirements.
The role involves working with high-performance and exotic materials, producing components to tight tolerances, and ensuring all work complies with company quality and safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specificationsSet up and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes and related machining equipment safely and efficientlyWork within company quality systems and procedures to ensure full complianceInterpret complex engineering drawings and translate them into finished machined partsMachine high-grade and difficult materials, including Inconel 718 and similar alloysMaintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, clean, and organised work areaMeet agreed production times while maintaining quality and accuracy standardsSelect appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds to achieve optimal machining performanceSupport continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and workshop practicesSkills & CompetenciesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret technical engineering drawingsGood communication skillsFlexible and adaptable to changing production demandsStrong understanding of machining principles and manual machining techniquesPerformance ExpectationsProven experience working on CNC lathes in a machine shop environmentExperience working with high-performance alloys and difficult-to-machine materialsExperience working to tight tolerances and quality standards in a manufacturing environmentApply now and I'll be in touch to discuss the next steps.
