Contek Recruitment are representing their client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer serving the automotive sector, in the search for skilled CNC Turners and CNC Millers to join their growing team. Our client specialises in the manufacture, re-manufacture and repair of precision-engineered components, predominantly supplying parts into the automotive industry. Operating from a modern and well-equipped workshop, their capabilities include welding, assembly and machining, delivering high-quality solutions across low to medium/high-volume production runs.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit experienced CNC Turners and CNC Millers to strengthen their machining department.

The Role

We are seeking machinists with experience in programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, although candidates with strong setting and operating experience will also be considered. The CNC Miller role will involve working on CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls, producing precision components to exacting standards. The CNC Turner role will involve working across a varied turning section consisting of 4 Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes, 1 Mazak CNC lathe and 3 Mitsubishi sliding head lathes. You will be machining a wide variety of precision components, with batch sizes ranging from 2-off prototypes through to 1,000-off production runs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC machinery where applicable
  • Producing precision components to engineering drawings
  • Carrying out in-process inspection and quality checks
  • Making machine adjustments and offset changes as required
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping
  • Working effectively as part of the machining team

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous CNC machining experience within precision engineering
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable
  • Mazak or sliding head experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset

Working Hours

4-day working week: Monday to Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm, plus the last Friday of each month 7:00am - 11:45am. This offers an excellent work-life balance with regular long weekends.
