Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:45pm | Friday 7:30am–12:30pm
The Role
Our client is an established manufacturing business based in Nailsea and is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller / Setter Operator to join their manufacturing team.
This is a hands-on role involving the setting and operation of CNC milling machinery, producing high-quality precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience with FANUC controls is required. CNC programming and experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAM software would be advantageous, but programming is not essential for the right candidate.
Candidates with strong CNC setting and operating experience who are interested in developing their programming skills are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines using FANUC controls
- Complete machine setups for production runs
- Install tooling, fixtures and work-holding equipment
- Set tool and work offsets accurately
- Load, prove and verify CNC programs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
- Produce components to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
- Make necessary offset adjustments during production
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling and setup issues
- Maintain production and inspection documentation
- Work to production schedules and minimise delays
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Follow company health and safety, quality and 5S procedures
Programming & CAM Experience
CNC programming experience is preferred but is not essential.
Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAM software would be an advantage. Programming responsibilities may include creating or modifying CNC programs, generating CAM toolpaths, selecting tooling and machining strategies, and making adjustments to improve cycle times, tool life and surface finish. xgikmsk
