An established and growing
precision engineering and manufacturing business
is expanding its production team and is looking for experienced
CNC and Manual Machinists
to join its manufacturing operation. We currently have
five positions available
across CNC and manual machining: 1 x Bridgeport / Toolroom Machinist
1 x HMC Operator
1 x CNC Lathe Setter / Operator
2 x CNC Machining Centre Setter / Operators
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled machinists looking to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances. The Roles
Depending on your experience and the position you are applying for, your responsibilities may include: Setting and operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
Working from engineering drawings, specifications and route cards.
Setting tooling, work offsets, datums and work-holding.
Proving and running CNC programmes where required.
Making offsets and minor programme adjustments.
Producing precision components to tight tolerances.
Carrying out in-process inspection using verniers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges and other measuring equipment.
Identifying and resolving machining issues.
Maintaining consistent quality throughout production.
Supporting production targets and continuous improvement.
Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices.
CNC Machinists
For the CNC positions, we're looking for candidates with experience in
CNC milling, machining centres, HMCs and/or CNC turning . Experience with
Fanuc, Siemens and Okuma controls
would be advantageous, along with the ability to read engineering drawings, work to tight tolerances and make offsets or minor programme adjustments. Experience with machines such as
DMG Mori CMX 800, Makino, DMU and Okuma horizontal machining centres
would also be beneficial. Manual / Toolroom Machinist
For the
Bridgeport / Toolroom position , we're looking for an experienced manual machinist with a strong practical engineering background. You'll need to be confident setting up work, selecting appropriate tooling, reading engineering drawings and producing accurate components to specification. About You
We're looking for experienced machinists who are: Skilled and confident in their particular machining discipline.
Able to work accurately to tight tolerances.
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
Reliable, organised and committed to production targets.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Good problem solvers.
Flexible and able to work as part of a wider production team.
Positive towards safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
A time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification would be advantageous. However,
relevant practical machining, setting and manufacturing experience can be considered in place of formal qualifications . Pay & Hours
