We are recruiting on behalf of a long established precision engineering company in Washington, Tyne, accuracy components for sectors such as automotive, offshore, defence, renewables and general manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC Milling: Setting, operating and programming Hurco CNC mills (WinMax control).
- Reading Drawings: Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Tooling Setup: Selecting and setting tooling, fixtures and workholding.
- Quality Checks: Using micrometers, verniers and gauges for in process and final inspection.
- Process Improvements: Adjusting feeds, speeds and offsets to maintain accuracy.
- Material Machining: Working with steels, alloys, aluminium and engineered plastics.
What We’re Looking For
- Hurco/WinMax experience (essential)
- Precision machining background with one offs and small batches
- Strong understanding of machining principles and cutting data
- Confident using manual measuring equipment
- Reliable, quality focused and able to work independently
