Sheet Metal Fabricator / Plasma Operator Location: Herne Bay, Kent Salary: £14.00 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (Overtime available at 1.5x) Contract: 12 week Temporary to Permanent Contek Recruitment Solutions are currently representing a well-established, sheetmetal fabrication specialist in Kent who are seeking skilled Sheet Metal Workers / Fabricators and Plasma Cutters to join their expanding workshop team. Operating out of a modern fabrication facility producing rectangular and spiral ductwork, ventilation systems, and commercial extraction units, our client is looking for experienced hands to support their growing production demand. Key Responsibilities * Fabricating rectangular and spiral ductwork using mild and galvanized steel (up to 1mm thickness). * Operating workshop machinery including press brakes, guillotines, and folding equipment. * Operating CNC Plasma Cutters * Reading and working directly from technical CAD drawings and production schedules. * Maintaining high standards of accuracy, structural strength, and finish on all manufactured components. * Working effectively as part of a busy 25-person workshop team to hit production deadlines. Requirements * Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator, or CNC Plasma Operator within a workshop environment. * Direct experience in ductwork fabrication, HVAC systems, or thin-gauge metal sheet work (galvanized/mild steel). * Confident operating press brakes, guillotines, and manual/automated fabrication tools. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
