Location: Lakeside Shopping Centre, Grays (RM20 2ZP)

Start Date: Monday 13th July

Duration: Long-term contract (Until Christmas)

Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (Standard day), with optional overtime available up to 18:30 daily.

Pay Rate: £25 - £27 per hour (CIS)

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer / Electrician for a long-term commercial contract at Lakeside Shopping Centre. The initial phase involves the testing, inspection, and emergency lighting survey of 10 distribution boards within the car park structures. Following the initial testing phase, the role will transition into remedial works, including distribution board upgrades and new lighting installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out full EICR testing and inspection on 10 distribution boards located across the site car parks.
  • Accurately log all defects and complete necessary test certification.
  • Conduct a comprehensive emergency lighting survey and associated testing.
  • Execute follow-up remedial works, including upgrading distribution boards.
  • Install new commercial lighting systems across the car park areas.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection & Testing qualification is essential.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671).
  • JIB / ECS Gold Card.
  • Proven experience working in commercial environments (retail, car parks, or large-scale infrastructure).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently off drawings and schedules.
  • IPAF (3a/3b).
