Fabricator / Welder Temporary to Permanent

Location - Pontefract

£17.00 - £18.50/hour (DOE) + Overtime

We are looking for an experienced, apprentice-trained Fabricator/Welder to join our growing team in Pontefract. This role is initially temporary, with a strong opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This is not a production welding role; we're looking for someone who can fabricate, assemble, and assist with installation of automatic industrial gates and associated steelwork.

The Role:

  • Fabrication and assembly of automatic gates and bespoke steelwork
  • MIG welding to a high standard
  • Working from engineering drawings
  • Workshop-based with some on-site installation work

What We're Looking For:

  • Apprentice-trained and qualified Fabricator/Welder
  • Proven fabrication experience (not just production welding)
  • Valid CSCS card (essential)
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
  • Clean driving licence preferred

Pay & Benefits:

  • £17.00 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience and ability)
  • Overtime after 45 hours: 1.33x (midweek)
  • Weekend overtime: 1.5x
  • Opportunity to secure a permanent position
  • Higher rates considered for candidates with strong site experience or gate/automation background.
