Contek are working with a client in the local area of Jacksdale, a family-run firm established in 1947. They specialise in large scale manual milling (up to 10m) and have expanded capacity to include CNC milling alongside their established manual milling services. They provide work to a wide range customer base, and all work undertaken requires precision and is fulfilled to a high standard.
The position comes due to a consistent intake of healthy, long-standing contracts, meaning a need for experienced precision engineers.
The Successful Machinist - Package:
- £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (OTE - £51,500 per annum)
- Permanent days shift (7am - 3:30pm, Mon - Thurs & 7am - 2:30pm, Fri)
- Overtime available (11 hours available per week)
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays & 1 fixed week)
- Bonuses paid out Monthly AND Yearly

The Successful Machinist - Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a 3 axis manual milling machine (experience with larger components is desirable)
- Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering technical drawings
- Must be able to carry out the following operations, including: Milling, Drilling, Boring, and Tapping
- Must have the ability to inspect own components using various hand-held measuring equipment including: DTI Gauges, Verniers, Micrometers, Slips, Depth Gauges
- Overhead Crane Experience is an advantage
