Role Type: Full time, permanent Location: Sheffield Salary: £42,207.01 per year (All in) Working Hours: 1 week rotation – Mornings (Monday to Friday - 6am until 2:30pm) and Nights (Monday to Thursday - 6pm until 4am) Role Overview My client are seeking an experienced Deep Hole Borer to join our established machine shop workforce in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating deep hole boring machinery to manufacture critical components for the oil and gas industry, ensuring high-grade materials are machined efficiently, accurately, and safely to tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities * Operate deep hole borers to process specialized, high-grade materials to customer requirements with minimal secondary machining. * Accurately interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and production sequences. * Select appropriate machines, tooling, and equipment, applying sound knowledge of tool feeds and speeds to optimize cycle times and maintain tool life. * Inspect components at various stages of production to ensure they comply with strict company quality procedures and drawing tolerances. * Maintain rigorous housekeeping standards (5S) within the work area to ensure a clean, hazard-free, and safe working environment. * Engage in proactive problem-solving and adapt flexibly to changing production priorities and shift patterns.
