Our client is a well-established, specialist tubular engineering and fabrication company based in Daventry.

Operating with a tight-knit, skilled team of around 30 people, they pride themselves on high-quality precision engineering and a supportive working environment.

Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join their workshop immediately.

This is a hands-on workshop role focusing on high-quality tubular fabrication.

You will be working on a variety of projects, including bespoke handrails and manifolds, executing tube-on-tube welds and fitting-to-tube fabrications.

  • Materials: Primarily mild steel, with occasional stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Thickness/Gauge: Light to medium gauge fabrication, typically between 1.5mm and 2mm.
  • Sizing: Working with diameters ranging from 10mm up to 4”.
  • Quality Standards: High-precision work—finished components must withstand rigorous pressure testing up to 4,000 PSI.

  • Welding

Skills: Strong proficiency in MIG welding is essential.

If you can also TIG weld, that is a major advantage, but our client is happy to get you started on MIG and let you develop your TIG skills on the job.

  • Fabrication Experience: Ability to read engineering drawings, prepare materials, and fabricate accurately.
  • Testing: You must be confident in your weld integrity, as a weld test forms part of the interview process.
  • Availability: Ready to hit the ground running with an immediate start.
  • Hours & Shift Pattern

Enjoy a great work-life balance with an early finish every Friday, alongside plenty of opportunities for enhanced overtime pay.

  • Standard Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00.
  • Overtime: Friday morning hours (and any additional extended shifts, e. g., 6am–6pm) are paid at an enhanced rate of Time and a Half (1.5x).
