Our client is a family-run precision engineering company based near Aston, Birmingham. They do low volume - prototype CNC and Manual machining, manufacturing precision parts for a wide variety of industries. With 17 employees and over 80 years of trading, they have a strong reputation within the industry.

They are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join their team and work closely with the Production Manager. You will be a time-served CNC/Manual machinist and understand the art of machining.

Main Purpose:

  • Lead engineering operations in collaboration with the Production Manager.

Scope:

  • Oversee quotations, order processing, customer engagement, and sales.
  • Support daily workflow and factory operations.

Main Duties & Expectations:

  1. Prepare accurate and competitive quotations using technical expertise and Progress Plus software. A background in machining is essential.
  2. Manage and develop customer relationships through various communication channels, including site visits.
  3. Actively grow the customer base, engaging through phone, email, social media, and trade events.
  4. Create and design drawings on AutoCAD/OneCNC - proficiency required.
  5. Ensure accurate order processing and manage material procurement.
  6. Optimise production workflow with the Production Manager, attending regular production meetings.
  7. Provide operational support, deputising for the Production Manager when needed.

Other Duties & Expectations:

  1. Support the Managing Directors with strategic planning, HR, H&S.
  2. Maintain health and safety regulations within the factory.
  3. Help maintain ISO:9001:2015 compliance.
  4. Act on behalf of Managing Directors during their absence ensuring smooth operations.
  5. Handle keyholder responsibilities, including opening and securing premises.
  6. Take on additional responsibilities as required.
