Our client is a precision engineering company based near Bromsgrove. They make tooling for a variety of industries and have been operating since the early 1960s. They have invested heavily over the years and have a high-tech working facility. They are currently recruiting for a CNC Miller who can program, set, and operate.
With experience in offline programming or direct programming on machine controllers and competencies in setting and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls, machining one-off and low-volume precision components and machined fabrications, the roles offer ideal opportunities for motivated machinists looking for variety in their work.
Operating medium-sized VMC machines and a large-capacity gantry milling machine, candidates with the required skills and aptitude will have the development opportunity to be trained to operate the Soraluce 3+2 axis travelling column machine. The roles also offer the opportunity for training for CNC Turning using the Colchester Combi lathe and Doosan PUMA.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities of CNC Miller:- Producing varied high-quality components
- Programming FANUC and/or HEIDENHAIN machining centres using direct machine programming from engineering drawings or offline programming using OneCNC or Tebis from STEP files
- Setting and operating CNC 3-axis machines
- Planning machining process
- Tool setting
- Work piece setting
- Finish machining to drawing tolerances
- Inspecting components to ensure tolerances and quality requirements are achieved
- Experience of CNC programming, setting, and operating within a precision engineering environment
- Experience in reading complex engineering drawings and interrogating 3D CAD files
- Fully conversant with machining one-off precision machined parts
- Experience in machining fabrications would be an advantage
- Exceptional eye for detail and quality control
- Capability to work using your own initiative and maintain a positive attitude
- Varied and interesting work pieces from small intricate items to large precision machined fabrications
- Training and development on various machine platforms and controls
- Training and development of offline programming
- Free on-site parking
- 33 days holiday, including Bank Holidays
Working hours: Mon-Thu 8.00am – 5.00pm, Fri 8.00am - 1.00pm
