We are working on behalf of our prestigious client, who have been in business since the early 1900s and they are the UK’s market leader in the manufacture of waste management vehicles. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined HGV Technician to join their Bridgwater team.
Job Purpose: To carry out the service and repair of HGV and RCV vehicles – including routine servicing, MOT preparation, chassis and body repairs, and fault diagnosis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routine maintenance and servicing.
- MOT preparation, remedial repairs as directed by the Workshop Controller and the Service Centre management team.
- Ensuring all work is carried out to DVSA standard including the completion of all associated paperwork.
- Promoting good housekeeping within the workshop environment and guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, compliance and upkeep of the quality and environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role.
Salary: Up to £48,508.20 pa plus overtime estimated at £8,000.00 plus annual bonus total package £56,500.00.
Location: Bridgwater
Hours: 45 hours per week, 9 hours per day between 06:00 and 18:00 flexible based on business and customer requirements.
PPE and uniform all supplied. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

- Essential / Desirable Knowledge:
- Time served experience in the maintenance and repair of HGV vehicles or similar in a workshop environment or as an on-site engineer. (E)
- Understanding of latest DVSA regulations and legislation. (D)
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. (E)
- Electrical and hydraulic systems knowledge. (D)
- Experience:
- Experience of both body and chassis repairs. (E)
- Experience in repair of RCVs. (D)
- Time served Technician. (E)
- Education / Qualifications:
- Year 3 City & Guilds or equivalent. (E)
- HGV License. (D)
- Product trained. (D)
- Volvo Tech Tool trained. (D)
- Allision Transmission Trained. (D)
- Job-related skills and abilities:
