Perm Placements Ltd are working on behalf of our prestigious client, who have been in business since the early 1900’s and they are the UK’s market leader in the manufacture of Waste management vehicles. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined HGV Technician to join their Aldridge team.
Job Purpose: To carry out the service & repair of HGV and RCV vehicles – Including routine servicing, MOT preparation and chassis and body repairs and fault diagnosis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routine maintenance & servicing.
- MOT preparation, remedial repairs as directed by the Workshop Controller & the Service Centre management team.
- Ensuring all work is carried out to DVSA standard including the completion of all associated paperwork.
- Promoting good housekeeping within the workshop environment and guarantee customer satisfaction.
Quality & Environmental Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, compliance and upkeep of the quality & environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role.
Location: Aldridge, Walsall
Hours: 45 hours per week, 9 hours per day between 07:00 and 16:30 flexible based on business and customer requirements.
Salary: Up to £47,000.00 pa. Overtime at time and a half after 45 hours per week (circa 5 hours overtime per week £8,000.00). Annual Bonuses. Total Package Circa £55,000.00. Double Time Saturday, Sunday and Bank holiday plus a day in lieu.

- Essential: Time served experience in the maintenance and repair of HGV vehicles or similar in a workshop environment or as an on-site engineer.
- Desirable: Understanding of latest DVSA regulations & legislation.
- Essential: Understanding of workplace health & safety requirements.
- Desirable: Electrical and Hydraulic systems knowledge.
- Essential: Experience of both Body and chassis repairs.
- Desirable: Experience in repair of RCV’s.
- Essential: Time serviced Technician.
- Essential: Year 3 City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Desirable: HGV License.
- Desirable: Product trained.
- Desirable: Volvo Tech Tool trained.
- Desirable: Allision Transmission Trained.
- Essential: Good diagnostic skills.
- Essential: Basic IT skills.
- Essential: Basic Administration skills.
- Essential: Ability to communicate with others effectively.
- Essential: Presents a professional image.
- Essential: Practical ability.
- Essential: Willing to work overtime at short notice.
- Desirable: Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK when required.
