Job Title: Estimator Location: Shrewsbury Salary: from £50k (depending on experience) Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, Full-time Type: Permanent Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods) Our client is a dynamic and growing company working across a range of high-quality construction projects. Due to continued success, they are now seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Estimator to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional to lead pre-construction estimating activities and help secure exciting new work across the region. Duties * Manage the end-to-end estimating process, from initial enquiry to final submission * Analyse project drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates * Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive quotations * Evaluate project risks and opportunities in each tender submission * Work collaboratively with pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure estimates align with project strategy * Contribute to value engineering exercises and identify cost-saving opportunities * Keep up to date with market rates, suppliers, and construction methods * Support bid preparation and submission documents where required It is essential or preferable that you have the following experience, qualifications or skills: * Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in the construction industry * Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications * Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills * Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite * Confident communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels * Capable of managing multiple tenders and tight deadlines * Commercial awareness and the ability to evaluate costs and margins effectively Benefits * Competitive basic salary – from £50k depending on experience * Company pension scheme * Free parking and on-site parking * 24 days annual holiday plus bank holidays * Supportive working environment with a focus on professional development * Opportunities for career progression and ongoing training
