Contek are working with a state of the art manufacturing facility based in Central England and specialise in the CNC precision milling of large engineering & industrial components. They work extensively with the aerospace, marine, defence, power generation, rail and satellite communication sectors from their facilities near Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. Through growth they are looking for an experienced CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) to join the team on a permanent basis.
Working hours: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-6:00pm, Friday 6:00am-6:00pm - with every other Friday off.
- Operate and set one of their multi-million-pound 3 axis CNC machines.
- Creating, setting and measuring state of the art tooling used on the CNC machinery.
- Operating five large overhead cranes which can lift up to 50 tonnes.
- Conforming and assisting with the upkeep of health and safety legislation.
- Using laser calibration equipment to measure and adjust the squareness of machinery to conform with tight tolerances.
- Reading of engineering drawings and knowledge of geometric tolerances.
- Setting, operating and some editing of programs with Fanuc controls (All of the programming is completed offline).
Person Background:
- Ideally experienced within a Heavy engineering environment.
- Use of overhead crane for lifting of heavy parts and components.
- Setting and operating of CNC Mills.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
