- Group Account Director with deep industry experience in the
Beers, Wines, and Spirits (BWS) sector to lead one of our key client portfolios. This role requires strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for building enduring client partnerships.
Role Overview
Group Account Director , you will own the overall strategic relationship with a portfolio of BWS clients, delivering marketing execution excellence across multiple regions and touchpoints.
You will lead senior client engagement, drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, and be accountable for the commercial health of the account.
You will manage and mentor a high-performing team across disciplines such as, POS, signage promotional items, and digital assets—ensuring our delivery exceeds expectations in both quality and speed to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior point of contact for strategic client relationships across the BWS portfolio.
- Understand and influence clients’ marketing strategies, aligning our services to meet evolving brand and commercial objectives.
- Build trusted, consultative relationships with client stakeholders across procurement, marketing, and brand teams.
- Present business reviews, strategic proposals, and performance reports at senior stakeholder level.
- Operational Delivery
- Oversee seamless delivery of campaigns across all physical and digital touchpoints (e. g. print, POS, packaging, promotional merchandise, signage).
- Champion best practices in process, quality, and compliance across all deliverables.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal production, creative, and procurement teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met or exceeded across all markets.
- Own the P&L for the client group; deliver against revenue and margin targets.
- Identify and convert growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Lead contract negotiations and renewals in collaboration with legal and commercial teams.
- Provide accurate forecasting and budget oversight.
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of account managers and client services professionals.
- Foster a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within your team and client relationships.
- Required Experience & Skills
- circa 10 years of client services experience in marketing services, production, or procurement—ideally within the Beers, Wines, and Spirits category.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-market accounts with complex stakeholder environments.
- Deep understanding of BWS retail channels, shopper marketing, and brand activation.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget and P&L ownership.
- Skilled in translating client needs into actionable, innovative marketing solutions.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills at C-suite level.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
- Experience working within or alongside global agency or in-house marketing procurement teams
- Significant client facing experience with large Premium Brands
- Familiarity with sustainability and ESG standards in marketing production.
- Strong grasp of data-driven marketing execution and Mar Tech tools.
