Job Description:
As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of a busy pest control region. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining profitability, and driving pest risk reduction initiatives within your area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the service delivery and profitability within the designated area, ensuring adherence to KPIs and meeting required targets.
- Oversee all routine services, call outs, and follow-ups to ensure completion within agreed timeframes and contractual specifications.
- Monitor pest risk levels and collaborate with Pest Risk Managers to minimize risks and achieve first-time fixes whenever possible.
- Maintain and manage the profit and loss (P&L) for the covered area, including analysis of stock, salary, and fuel expenditure.
- Coordinate staffing levels to support full service delivery while aligning with revenue generation.
- Conduct new starter and refresher training sessions in line with industry standards.
- Address customer reviews, complaints, and incidents with a focus on improving satisfaction and reducing risks.
- Monitor workloads, distribute tasks efficiently among team members, and identify resource needs.
- Provide regular feedback to the Operations Director on team performance and identify areas for improvement or support.
- Uphold company standards and policies, including health and safety protocols, using management systems effectively.
- Maximise sales opportunities and support the sales team as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the pest control industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a field-based team.
- Understanding of client contract specifications and the ability to ensure compliance.
- Proficiency in using management systems and IT tools for stock control, reporting, and communication.
- Commitment to promoting a safe working environment and adherence to health and safety policies.
