Job Description:

  • Perform pre-preg carbon fibre lay-up to engineering drawings, ply books, and work instructions
  • Manufacture complex composite components (Class A surfaces, structural parts)
  • Ensure correct ply orientation, stacking sequence, and material handling
  • Work with a variety of materials including carbon fibre, glass fibre, and core materials (e.g. honeycomb, foam)

Tooling & Preparation:

  • Prepare moulds and tooling to required standards (cleaning, release agents, bagging prep)
  • Apply vacuum bagging techniques including:
    • Peel ply
    • Breather / bleeder layers
    • Vacuum films and sealing
  • Ensure tooling integrity and readiness for autoclave curing

Curing & Processing:

  • Support autoclave and oven curing processes
  • Monitor curing cycles and ensure adherence to process parameters
  • Handle components post-cure, including de-bagging and initial inspection
