Role overview
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the development, testing and verification of new systems and components or commodities into the Cockpit system. The role requires the individual to use the Client systems to set up and manage the test plan progression through to sign-off. The initial deployment will be within the off-cycle development team supporting new technology development & running change verification, requirement updates and generic design verification plan (DVP) process development.
Responsibilities
- The purpose of this role is to coordinate the development, testing and verification of new systems and components or commodities into the Cockpit system.
- Use Client systems to set up and manage the test plan progression through to sign-off.
- Support the initial deployment within the off-cycle development team, including new technology development, running change verification, requirement updates and generic design verification plan (DVP) process development.
- Prepare parts for testing, evaluate results, resolve problems arising, write reports and file back to RMDV.
- Liaise with supplier teams to ensure the test plan stays on track.
- Manage the test and development plan for several new cockpit programmes.
- Manage the RMDV deck for respective programmes, setting and cascading targets to relevant areas.
- Create a detailed test timing plan and update Bill of Materials for test parts.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and test houses to complete the plan and liaise with value-for-money teams for approval.
- Ensure all department documentation is up to date, including meeting minutes.
- Undertake other work as directed by the line manager related to the job as requested.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a project team environment.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
- Understanding of issue management systems, CAD systems and Design Verification processes.
- Understanding of Engineering Standards and Test Procedures.
- Experience organizing or supervising test preparation and completion to defined procedures.
- Experience with Cockpit or automotive interior component design verification.
- Experience within engineering or programme planning departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong influencing and engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes.
- Knowledge of virtual verification methods (geometrical and CAE) and reviewing results.
Education
- Degree qualified (engineering or related) or equivalent experience preferred.
