About the company

I am currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a renowned automotive technology provider based in Coventry, who are seeking a Key Account Manager for Connection Systems to join their team.

Position Summary

The Key Account Manager will drive profitable growth for our Clients' Connection Systems. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships while hunting for new business opportunities. The candidate will develop and execute account strategies aligned with the CS Global Account Sales Strategies. This position reports to the Global Account Director. In addition, maintain all current business subjects to ensure customer satisfaction.

Your Role

  • Drive growth and profitability strategies at the product lines in responsibility.
  • Actively pursue opportunities of market share increase at customer.
  • Act as liaison between OEM customers and the Clients' Connection Systems; travel as required to visit customers; lead negotiations and communicate cost and timing to customer; prepare and give customer presentations.
  • Lead the Voice of the Customer at the Client.
  • Manage Request For Quotations from collecting customer's requirements to coordinating all the activities internally: Product Line managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, Costing to build a Quotation.
  • Understanding of QAF's, ED&T Workbook, ESOW, Management of Engineering POs (GIPR's), Access to COVISINT Portal and the understanding of general timing milestones is an advantage.
  • Manage commercial aspects of projects in development to ensure proper level of profitability: sales forecast, pricing, engineering change request, cash collection in coordination with Program Manager and Engineering.
  • Manage the current product sales with respect to delivery performance and payments to the Client along with overdue resolution.
  • Support products in production: understand and facilitate quality resolution, service, price profit, technology, responsiveness, and performance issues.
  • Execute the customer strategy plan of the product lines in responsibility - aligned with product line strategies.
  • Develop, nurture, maintain and establish strong relationships with the customer purchasing, Engineering, organizations.
  • Build strong customer relationships through frequent contact and follow-up, including, without limitation, regular meetings at the customer's place of business on a weekly or more frequent basis.
  • Monitor, and coordinate process for charge backs and pass dues to ensure that they are closed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop, lead and execute opportunities to improve profitability OI (e.g. price, volume increase).
  • Work with worldwide Engineering team; communicate technical requirements and trends back to the division and technical centres.
  • Survey the market trend to anticipate customer request.
  • Contribute to new technologies proposal and support Engineering team in front of the customer to develop the portfolio product.

Your Background

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business with great interest for technologies, HV and LV automotive connections is an advantage.
  • Experience in the automotive industry required, international environment and high-stakes negotiations, as well as previous Client experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent organization and structured work style.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team setting.
