Position Title: Durability & Robustness Programme Leader

Duration: Contract

Location: Gaydon

Duties

  • This role is within the Durability & Robustness attribute which is part of the wider Driven Attribute Integration organisation of the Client.
  • The Programme leader role is to ensure all customer expectations for Durability & Robustness are met with appropriate target setting, design development and completion of whole vehicle verification activities using both virtual and physical test methods.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of all Attribute Requirement targets by Gateway
  • Support the Programme Attribute Team to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved
  • Detailed strategy & delivery planning for the attribute covering CAE, Road Load Data, Vehicle and System rig tests & driven vehicle DV activities
  • Working with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets
  • Work with component engineers and suppliers as required to drive resolution of engineering issues
  • Deliver technical recommendations and test and issue status reports
  • Work on tasks to ensure all lessons learnt from the current vehicle are captured and fed back to the Programme Attribute Team and progressed as necessary

Skills

  • Knowledge/experience of engineering test activities
  • Knowledge/experience of automotive technologies or systems

Education Required

  • Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies
  • Understanding of Durability & Strength principles
  • Project management of complex engineering test activities
  • Experience of problem solving including application of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, DoE etc.
  • Understanding of Systems engineering principles and delivery
  • Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel
  • Knowledge/Experience of AGILE working principles
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience
