About the company
Job Description
As Aerothermal CATIA Design Engineer your main responsibilities are:
- Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists to create development geometry for CFD and parts for wind tunnel and track testing using CATIA v5 in accordance with existing best practice methods.
- Champion continuous improvement in aerodynamic design processes. Develop and implement best practices, processes, and tools. Coach and mentor others in surface design best practice.
- Ensure timely delivery of tasks whilst maintaining high standards of quality.
Qualifications / Skills needed
- Proficient in CATIA V5 with a focus on advanced surfacing techniques and parametric modelling.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office products.
- Attention to detail, methodical approach.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Creative problem-solving skills to optimise geometry within aerodynamic and packaging constraints.
- Enthusiasm to champion continuous improvement and propose new ideas.
- Adaptability to deliver multiple tasks according to changing priorities and timescales.
- Understanding of aerodynamic principles would be beneficial.
- Wind tunnel model design experience would be beneficial.
- Engineering technical training such as Bachelor\’s or Master\’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years CATIA v5 surfacing experience in motorsport, automotive or aerospace environments.
