Battery Test Technician in Banbury

Position Title: Battery Test Technician

Duration: Contract

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Role Purpose:

• A proactive, organised and self-motivated test technician to join the manufacturing test team to support with the power system performance EoL testing at Banbury

Operational Duties:

• Lead setup, installation and deinstallation of power systems for testing
• Conduct power system testing alongside Manufacturing Test engineers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient testing environment, ensuring compliance with 5S standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of test equipment, liaising with facilities and external suppliers as needed.
• Liaise with engineering and project management teams for scheduling of tests.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Level 4 HaV trained, and confident applying HaV processes to dynamic situations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Competent in following Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), procedures, and risk assessments.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail with a focus on executing tests to a high-quality standard.
• Familiar with common battery test equipment (Milliohm meter, IR Tester, HV Power Supplies, Data Acquisition Systems).

Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualification in an Engineering subject or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience of working within a prototype engineering setting.
• Training and experience in working with hazardous voltages.
