About the Role
At Contechs, we are supporting a leading automotive OEM in the search for a Senior Engineer - Stability Control Systems & Driveline to join their Vehicle Dynamics team. This team is responsible for delivering world-class ride, steering, handling, and stability control systems. You will play a key role in developing and delivering advanced stability functions including Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), ABS, Torque Vectoring, Traction Control, and Driveline Distribution. This is a highly hands-on role, covering the full lifecycle from requirements definition through to calibration, validation, and vehicle sign-off, working across multiple vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of Stability Control Systems (SCS), ABS and driveline calibration for vehicle programmes, ensuring attribute targets and timing are met.
- Support Product Owners with system development, tuning, and road release activities.
- Lead calibration, validation, and sign-off activities, including limit driving and prescriptive manoeuvres.
- Manage test preparation and planning, including vehicles, logistics, and overseas test activity.
- Coordinate software release activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform fault analysis and issue resolution across functional and calibration parameters.
- Ensure effective integration of stability control software with interfacing systems.
- Produce test reports, progress tracking, and attribute assessments.
- Maintain compliance with Vehicle Dynamics specifications and RIS requirements.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in automotive chassis engineering / vehicle dynamics within an OEM or Tier 1 environment.
- Strong expertise in tuning stability control systems, including: Stability Control, ABS, Traction Control, Driveline Distribution.
- Advanced limit handling driving skills across varying friction conditions (Mu levels and surfaces).
- Experience at European proving grounds such as IdiAda, Nardò, Nürburgring.
- Experience with off-road driving and traction management systems.
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools and ETAS INCA.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines.
- Flexible approach, including travel and extended working hours when required.
Desirable
- Experience with Bosch MM6 data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of HiL / SiL development and validation processes.
- Background in control system development.
