We are seeking experienced Body in White - Project Engineers to join our team, supporting the delivery of advanced closure systems including doors, bonnets, and rear closures for complex engineering programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of closure commodities to meet quality, cost, and timing targets
  • Manage engineering releases and ensure accurate technical documentation (e.g. FESO, EIDs)
  • Drive virtual build phases and support physical build activities, resolving issues through to completion
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional design and assembly reviews
  • Conduct failure mode prevention activities (DFMEA, lessons learned, QHR)
  • Lead root cause analysis for technical issues and implement robust solutions
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and feasibility
  • Define and achieve performance targets through simulation and validation
  • Manage CAD resource allocation across internal and external teams

Required Experience

  • Strong background in large, complex metal pressings, including Super Plastic Forming (SPF)
  • Experience with closures systems, including: Doors and bonnets, Rear closures
  • Knowledge of: Extrusions and castings, Composite materials and processes (SMC, RTM, foam core structures)
  • Proven experience delivering components within an automotive or similar engineering environment

Desirable Skills

  • Experience creating and managing: Interface matrices, Commodity strategies and location strategies
  • Familiarity with manufacturing assembly requirements and surface compatibility considerations
  • Experience supporting FMA activities, including the development of rigs and bucks
