I am currently recruiting on behalf of a major Tier 1 global automotive supplier who specialise in designing and manufacturing advanced fluid management systems, specifically focusing on engine cooling, battery cooling, air charge systems, and air intake applications.
They are looking for a CAD Cooling design engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
Job Description
CAD Designer to support an automotive supplier on vehicle packaging and cooling hose routing activities. Creating, modifying and releasing CAD data to support the re-routing of cooling hoses and associated components in order to resolve packaging constraints within the vehicle environment. This role would suit a CAD Designer with prior experience of cooling hoses, fluid routing, under-bonnet packaging or similar automotive systems, combined with strong CATIA V5 and TCE experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support re-routing of cooling hoses to resolve vehicle packaging issues, clash conditions and installation constraints.
- Review package space, clearances, bend radii, fixation points and assembly feasibility for hose routing solutions.
- Update CAD data in line with engineering change requirements and programme timing.
- Use TCE to manage CAD data, revisions, releases and associated design information.
- Support design reviews, packaging reviews and issue resolution meetings with internal teams, customers and suppliers.
- Ensure all design work meets relevant customer, engineering and data management standards.
- Produce or support 2D drawings, layouts and design documentation where required.
