About the company
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading high end low volume client based in Woking who are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Paint (New Model) to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis.
Responsibilities
- Support cross functional Design & Perceived Quality reviews for new models
- Work with Research & Development (R&D) on new material concepts and technologies
- Support Design Verification Plan (DVP) testing of new substrates
- Develop new paint colours, including application sign off
- Develop paint application methods, including tooling definition
- Lead PFMEA and DFMEA activities
- Plan and manage facility / paint shop capacity and layout
- Implement process & documentation and product traceability methodology
- Generate and report hours per car
- Identify part related concerns, support quality maturation, and handle escalation
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in mechanical or automotive engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Experience with paint development & application methodologies
- Specification and procurement of paint jigs & fixtures
- Planning and execution of new vehicle programs
- Knowledge of complex paint technologies / systems
- Understanding of vehicle assembly processes
