Purpose of the Role: Join the Technical Development Team as the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer, where you will help drive innovation within a world-class AM facility accessible to all the Clients' colleagues. Working with a broad range of advanced AM technologies, you will apply your expertise to deliver cost, time, and quality improvements across the entire product lifecycle. Reporting to the Technical Development Function Manager, the successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with a strong background in binder-based metal manufacturing, playing a key role in leading the rollout of pioneering LMM technology across the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead in-house metal additive manufacturing technology development and rollout.
- Schedule and operate the LMM Printer (Lithography Metal Manufacturing), including post-processing and sintering.
- Develop print, debinding, and sintering parameters for a range of materials and applications.
- Collaborate with other business functions to deploy metal AM across the product development lifecycle.
- Coordinate validation testing at material and component levels, including finishing techniques and post-processing operations.
- Provide technical support across in-house polymer AM technologies, with a focus on powder-based processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience in working with LMM hardware or similar binder-based metal manufacturing processes.
- Experience in working with sintering and debinding hardware and processes.
- Proficient in 3D CAD design, including a strong understanding of DfAM principles.
- A safety-first mindset, with knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures.
- Experience with powder-based polymer technologies (MJF or SLS) would be beneficial.
- A degree-level qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience within the automotive industry is beneficial.
