Contract Duration: 6 Months

Hours of Work: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Pay Rate: £13.30 per hour PAYE

Qualifications: A levels in a scientific discipline would be preferred

Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting scientific research and ensuring the quality of laboratory processes.

The Opportunity:

  • Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
  • Perform a range of basic routine analysis, product manufacturing and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
  • Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
  • Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
  • Follow product formulations and methods considering standard operating procedures and food safety to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing.
  • Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
  • Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
  • Perform admin and housekeeping duties as directed.
