About the company:
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Michigan USA, who are seeking an Energy Management Simulation Engineer to join their team.
Job Description:
- Build 0D/1D system simulation models to analyze core vehicle functional objectives, with a focus on fuel economy, efficiency, range, and performance.
- Develop and manage tools used to translate vehicle functional objectives to system and sub-system level requirements.
- Use Python or MATLAB for automation and data processing related to simulation workflows.
- Develop or identify new technologies, strategies, and methods for improving the energy efficiency and performance of current and future vehicles.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in 0D/1D system simulation, with a focus on energy management and longitudinal performance.
- Experience in model-based engineering, preferably using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience using 1D modelling software, preferably GT-Suite, to support vehicle and propulsion system development.
- Demonstrated foundational knowledge of electrified propulsion system components, including electric motors, power conversion systems, high voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical collaborators.
Nice to Have Criteria:
- Experience in model-based engineering, preferably using MATLAB/Simulink.
