Position Title: CAD Mechanical Designer – Elec Duration: Contract Location: Hybrid Working – 3 Days on site in Milton Keynes (Outside IR35) *Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.* Essential Criteria: The role encapsulates the end-to-end design of the integration of electrical systems with regards to all Mechanical packaging Enclosures, brackets, housings, trucking Thermal mechanical – Cooling calcs, sizing of ducts heatsinks etc Batteries, cold plates, busbars, PCB mounting, Composite HV pack enclosures AV Mounting – Calculate and size bushings, define and manage testing and validation, development of tools and process Systems Engineering – Capturing and understanding the requirements, blue sky thinking, problem solving, electrical architecture, componentry selection, layout, and feasibility. Detail design – 3D CAD – Concept schemes, packaging 2D manufacturing – Drawings, build lists, BOM, supplier selection, costings, planning capture. Support – Physically validate the system, parts they have designed, support build, snag correction, fault investigation, easements, cost-downs, reworks instructions, reporting. CAD, 2D & 3D drawing data and design (UG NX) Engineering system support Project Product Data Liaise with engineering in the control and generation of CAD UG NX data and drawings. Develop personal systems for optimum performance and efficiency. To maintain all facets of CAD drawing generation to best practice. Extensive NX and Teamcenter experience Composites design experience Composite enclosure methodologies Tooling and Mould design Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations Strong communication & documentation skills Nice to Have Criteria: To have a clear understanding of CAD and UG NX systems at customer site. To maintain and control all CAD records and data in the support of project related work. Maintain drawing controls to TS(phone number removed) standard and advise best practice. Co-ordinate drawing changes and requirements for customer Design and model components, system installations to customer satisfaction. Manage, document and control time, workload. To ensure customer confidentiality at all times. To work at customer location in the support of 2D, 3D product data generation as and when required. To have a clear understanding of automotive electrical distribution systems, drawings and awareness of best in class systems that are available. Control, record and implement engineering changes to harness drawings. Produce bill of materials and listings in support of other departments.
