We are supporting a leading automotive OEM in the search for a highly capable Verification Engineer to join their Steering Systems team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong HIL expertise and a passion for vehicle dynamics, modelling correlation, and mechatronic system validation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of next‑generation steering technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed test cases for execution within the Steering System HIL environment
- Implement existing JLR vehicle test procedures into the Steering HIL platform
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Steering System HIL rig
- Create and refine analysis methods, metrics, and validation reports
- Work closely with internal customers to understand and deliver test requirements
- Characterise and compare steering systems, producing clear technical documentation
- Correlate virtual models with Steering System HIL data and on‑vehicle test results
Experience & Skills Required
- Extensive experience with HIL systems such as dSPACE, XPACK4, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics
- Proven background in mechatronic system verification & validation
- Experience using simulation tools: MATLAB/Simulink, IPG Carmaker, or similar
- Proficient programming skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, C)
- Strong problem‑solving approach (Six Sigma or equivalent is beneficial)
- Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques (advantageous)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong team player with effective communication skills
- Understanding of AGILE methodologies
- BSc or MSc in Engineering, Data Science, or a relevant technical discipline
