We are supporting a leading automotive OEM in the search for a highly capable Verification Engineer to join their Steering Systems team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong HIL expertise and a passion for vehicle dynamics, modelling correlation, and mechatronic system validation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of next‐generation steering technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test cases for execution within the Steering System HIL environment
  • Implement existing JLR vehicle test procedures into the Steering HIL platform
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Steering System HIL rig
  • Create and refine analysis methods, metrics, and validation reports
  • Work closely with internal customers to understand and deliver test requirements
  • Characterise and compare steering systems, producing clear technical documentation
  • Correlate virtual models with Steering System HIL data and on‐vehicle test results

Experience & Skills Required

  • Extensive experience with HIL systems such as dSPACE, XPACK4, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics
  • Proven background in mechatronic system verification & validation
  • Experience using simulation tools: MATLAB/Simulink, IPG Carmaker, or similar
  • Proficient programming skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, C)
  • Strong problem‐solving approach (Six Sigma or equivalent is beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques (advantageous)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills
  • Understanding of AGILE methodologies
  • BSc or MSc in Engineering, Data Science, or a relevant technical discipline
