Location: Gaydon

Duties: Responsible for supporting the development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and network that includes facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Level: A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Responsibilities typically include:

  • Managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.

Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

Specialization Match Note: Technologists apply engineering principles in the implementation of products, systems, and processes. This differs from Engineers who use theoretical aspects of engineering principles to research and conceptually design products, systems, processes, etc.

Some countries may require Technologists to have a formal certification or registration and/or a formal Technologist Degree to practice as a Technologist. Professional Technicians have a Technical Degree and some incumbents have a combination of both education/experience. Para-Professional Technicians are responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, and may not have any certifications/education but experience.
