The Consumer Council is recruiting for a Head of Consumer Protection to join our busy Consumer Engagement Directorate, as a member of our Wider Leadership Team. We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative leader to head our award winning Consumer Protection Team, supporting consumers across Northern Ireland. If you are passionate about supporting and protecting consumers, while leading an impactful frontline service, we would love to hear from you.

Eligibility criteria

  • You will need proven experience of managing a high-volume customer advisory or complaint handling service that utilises multiple communication channels and meets quality standards.
  • Developing and optimising a casework portfolio to agreed protocols, while reporting data and evidence to senior management.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and trusted stakeholder relationships to deliver positive outcomes for consumers, service users and/or businesses.
  • Leading a team to deliver a service, managing their performance, supporting their development and delivering outcomes.

Salary Benefits:

Salary: £47,304 - £49,515. At the Consumer Council, you will receive an excellent pension scheme with 34.25% employer contribution, 25 days annual leave and 12 statutory holidays and excellent opportunities for professional development. The Consumer Council currently operates a hybrid working model.
